Loan Specialist

North Dakota Housing Finance Agency

Monthly Salary Range: $3,231-$4,308

Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of work experience in related duties involving mortgage loan processing, loan servicing, and loan collections. Related formal education in college-level coursework may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the work experience requirements. Must have knowledge of principles of real estate law and lending; accounting principles of mortgage lending; and the ability to operate in a mortgage accounting computer environment with working knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional requirements include successful completion of the interview process and reference checks.

Summary of Work:
1) Loan Acquisition - Review and approve loan compliance applications; review and approve purchase of loans; balance and approve Trustee notifications of loans to be purchased; communicate with lenders deficiencies, funding information, and loan pool reservations.
2) Loan Servicing - Assist with loan collections activities; prepare loan files for transfer from loan origination to loan servicing; authorize disbursements for hazard and flood insurance policies; set-up escrow accounts; assist with notifying borrowers of escrow account adjustments, reconciling and paying monthly and annual mortgage insurance premiums; assist with loan payoffs.

Financial Institutions Market Manager

This position is responsible for oversight of all activities related to commercial and agriculture lending through the building of relationships with financial institutions and individuals. Position has authority to approve credit requests, developing employees and working closely with other managers in carrying out the overall mission of BND in areas that involve our partnership with financial institutions across the state. Business Banker

Responsible for the analysis of new loan requests, as well as the maintenance of the loan portfolio resulting from the approval of new credits and existing credits assigned to the portfolio. Position ensures that loan requests are within program guidelines and bank mission. Structures and maintains loans to provide profitability and minimize risk to the Bank as well as to meet the financing needs and repayment capacity of the borrower.
Position is authorized to make commercial lending decisions up to current established lending limits. Incumbent may be required to work extra hours, as needed, for delivery of special projects or to meet deadlines. This position is also responsible to assist business bankers and credit analysts to ensure the Bank is meeting customer expectations.
Overall, job-related decision making is guided by bank personnel, loan and compliance policies, association data, federal and state laws and regulations, top management influence and through acquired management experience.
Serve as primary contact for financial institutions, branches and economic developers within the Northeast region of the state. This requires position to field calls from financial institutions on major service issues and collect annual information from borrowers. For non-credit needs, position will introduce product specialist to financial institutions, collaborate on presentations and help close the deal. Position will also be responsible for resenting BND through community involvement and industry events.

Commercial Loan Processor

This position reports to the Executive Director and provides professional support services to the commercial lenders. Support includes organizing credit committees for loan considerations and generation of subsequent loan documents for closing. Experience in commercials loan closing documentation for closing is paramount to this position.

Responsibilities:
Processing:
Prepare all commercial loan documents
File all loan security documents (mortgages, UCCS)
Create folders for all new loans in a web based environment
Set up amortization schedules
Set up and monitor loan tickler files

Committee/Board Support
Prepare all documents for Committee/Board Meetings
Prepare and send notifications of meetings to Committee/Board Members
Receive RSVPs and ensure quorum for meetings are met
Record Minutes of all meetings
Prepare all written minutes from meetings

Requirements:
Must be very detail oriented
Associate Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
Notary Public
At least one year of experience in commercial loan processing/servicing
Knowledge of handling, processing and/or ordering good standing certificates, entity documents, credit reports, liens, judgments, taxes, UCC searches and filings
Knowledge of insurance and flood requirements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent Math, communication and organizational skills
