EEOC Opens Collection of EEO-1 Data

Posted: Apr 27 2021
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has opened the portal for banks and other employers to submit 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 data. The EEO-1 Component 1 survey requires private employers with 100 or more employees and federal contractors with 50 or more employees to submit data on employees’ gender, race and ethnicity annually to EEOC. The EEOC announced last May that it was delaying collection of this data due to the COVID-19 public health emergency.

If a filer chooses to upload data files for its submission, that option will be available on May 26. The deadline for submitting 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 data is July 19.

The Component 1 survey is a separate survey from the Component 2 survey, which collected a much broader set of data on employees’ pay and hours worked. With ABA’s support, the EEOC discontinued the Component 2 survey last year. Access EEOC’s online form.
